Relationship breakdown is an emotional and difficult time when you are also under great pressure to make the right decisions. More than ever, you need expert and sympathetic advice.

It may be that both parties have come to the conclusion that the marriage is at an end for any number of reasons but the only ground for divorce is irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. We can help you to ensure that a divorce is obtained as smoothly and cost-effectively as possible and advise you on separation agreements or judicial separation.

Disputes between married and unmarried parents often arise in respect of the children. We are experts at resolving these issues and recognising the needs of all parties, in particular the children.

You may need to discuss financial issues. We will advise on how best to resolve them and attempt to reach a solution via negotiation rather than through the courts. However, if an agreement cannot be reached, we will provide you with expert barristers to represent you.

We offer expert advice in the following areas:

  • Divorce, separation
  • Civil partnerships
  • Finance
  • Child issues, including maintenance
  • Injunctions
  • Adoption and surrogacy
  • Co-habitation and unmarried couples
  • Pre-nuptial agreements
  • International aspects

Divorce does not have to break the bank
When a relationship falls apart most clients want a speedy and
cost- effective resolution. How successfully this can be achieved depends on a couple’s genuine desire to settle and the quality of their lawyers.

For couples trying to settle, it is essential to put aside angry and hurt feelings so that you can absorb and process the advice of your lawyer. In my experience, cases that are prolonged and cost more either involve couples who cannot park their emotions OR because the lawyer does not take a pragmatic settlement approach.

We have represented people from all walks of life. Our cases have ranged from financially complex divorces involving company structures, partnerships, trusts and overseas assets to the more straightforward break-up. Most break-ups involve a modest amount of property, capital and income. An experienced lawyer will be looking to settle your case as early as possible. Information gathering can be quick if couples co-operate and once gathered negotiations can begin. Sometimes, going to court is unavoidable. However, for the experienced lawyer, it is always the last resort even in the most complex of cases.
