The family law department has teams in Putney, Kingston and Bedford Row. The firm wide family department comprising of 18 lawyers has a long established and strong reputation and wealth of experience across the family law sector. Five of the team are qualified family mediators and all are members of specialist family organisations. We are also represented on professional panels, including the Lord Chancellor's child abduction panel and children panel. We offer clients a tailor made service for our clients whether through court or alternative ways of resolving disputes.
We are amongst the country's leading Collaborative Family Practice Specialists.
We also offer mediation to assist with the resolution of disputes in relation to both children and finance.
Civil Partnership
Since 5 December 2006, same-sex couples have been able to register their relationships under the Civil Partnership Act. Registering a relationship provides the couple with a range of rights and responsibilities akin to marriage. The legal implications of civil partnership are far reaching. Our civil partnership page offers advice on a range of legal issues for those who are contemplating taking the step.
Our size (we have more than 290 solicitors and support staff) means we are able to offer a degree of specialist expertise not available in a smaller firm. When you instruct one of our partners or solicitors, you will be dealing with someone who specialises in that area of law, rather than being a 'jack of all trades'.
We do a limited amount of public funded work, concentrating on areas where more than money is at stake (for example, cases involving children).
