About us

Fiona Read Fiona Read

The family law department has teams in Putney, Kingston and Bedford Row. The firm-wide family department comprising 19 lawyers has a long established and strong reputation and wealth of experience across the family law sector. We advise on all areas of family law including divorce and separation, financial disputes, pre/post-nuptial agreements, same sex partnerships, cohabitation contracts and cohabitee disputes, and children proceedings including contact, residence, adoption, child abduction, and care proceedings. We are ADR specialists with five accredited mediators, collaborative lawyers, and a specialist family arbitrator on our team. We offer MIAM meetings. We provide our clients with a tailor made service whether through court or alternative ways of resolving disputes.

Our size (we have more than 290 solicitors and support staff) means we are able to offer a degree of specialist expertise not available in a smaller firm. When you instruct one of our partners or solicitors, you will be dealing with someone who specialises in that area of law.

We do a limited amount of public funded work, concentrating on areas where more than money is at stake (for example, cases involving children). In some circumstances we offer a competitive fixed price for an initial meeting with one of our lawyers.

We are described by Chambers UK as providing "Good value for money and an excellent divorce service focused on the human elements as much as the financial."
